Shammi Kapoor's real name was Shamsher Raj Kapoor. He was the son of Prithviraj Kapoor, and the brother of Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. He had one sister Urmilla who is no more. 

Shammi Kapoor is known to have had a short-lived but strong affair with his Brahmachari co-star Mumtaz. 

Shammi Kapoor was married to Geeta Bali. They had two children: Kanchan and Mickey. Geet Bali died of smallpox in the 1960s. Shammi Kapoor then married Neela Devi. 

Shammi Kapoor was extremely Net savvy. One of the first actors to use the Internet, he was the founder of several Internet organistaions like Ethical Hackers Association and the Internet Users Community of India.  

Because of actor's being extremely net savvy, initially people of India were mistaken that Yahoo mail belonged to Shammi Kapoor.
